Newton's great achievement was in synthesizing the laws of motion and energy and in developing a unifying theory of universal gravitation. Concepts now considered common knowledge were at the time seen as so far fetched that even Newton himself felt that, although they must obey the natural laws he discovered, &quot;angels&quot; were required to move everything. The second volume, views the development of these concepts from the viewpoint of the 19th century, when much of the theoretical work of physics was being transformed into the practical technology of the Industrial Revolution. Physics was the intellectual fuel of industrialization. The author also shows how the development of 19th century physics led to the Second Scientific Revolution of Einstein's Relativity and Plank's Quantum Theory. In the final volume, he deals with a central concern of 20th century physics -- the description of the infinitesimally small particles and waves that constitute the very fabric of the universe. The quest takes us to the frontiers of physics today where physicists speculate about the birth and boundaries of the universe, instantaneous particle communication and even other dimensions which may describe parallel realities.</summary></citation><citation><uniqueHoldings>2170</uniqueHoldings><holdings>2249</holdings><numEditions>16</numEditions><oclcnum>ocn002887731</oclcnum><exprid>sw002887731:lccn-n80-126289</exprid><isFiction>False</isFiction><recordType>book</recordType><date>1977</date><languages count="5"><lang code="eng" count="9"/><lang code="ger" count="4"/><lang code="ita" count="1"/><lang code="swe" count="1"/><lang code="und" count="1"/></languages><dates different="8" first="1977" last="1988"/><audLevel>0.50</audLevel><creator>Asimov, Isaac</creator><title>The collapsing universe</title><summary>Verhandeling over nieuwe ontwikkelingen in de sterrenkunde, voorafgegaan door een algemene inleiding over kracht, materie en planeten.</summary></citation><citation><uniqueHoldings>2166</uniqueHoldings><holdings>2166</holdings><numEditions>1</numEditions><oclcnum>ocn008689463</oclcnum><exprid>sw008689463:lccn-n80-126289</exprid><isFiction>False</isFiction><recordType>book</recordType><date>1984</date><languages count="1"><lang code="eng" count="1"/></languages><dates different="1" first="1984" last="1984"/><audLevel>0.58</audLevel><title>Science and creationism</title><cover oclc="ocn008689463" type="isbn">0195032527</cover></citation><citation><uniqueHoldings>2043</uniqueHoldings><holdings>2634</holdings><numEditions>41</numEditions><oclcnum>ocn008931476</oclcnum><exprid>sw000285092:lccn-n80-126289</exprid><isFiction>True</isFiction><recordType>book</recordType><date>1982</date><languages count="5"><lang code="eng" count="29"/><lang code="ger" count="5"/><lang code="rus" count="5"/><lang code="jpn" count="1"/><lang code="und" count="1"/></languages><dates different="15" first="1951" last="2004"/><audLevel>0.46</audLevel><creator>Asimov, Isaac</creator><title>The foundation trilogy : three classics of science fiction</title><genres><genre count="501" norm="science fiction">Science fiction</genre></genres></citation><citation><uniqueHoldings>1969</uniqueHoldings><holdings>2241</holdings><numEditions>8</numEditions><oclcnum>ocn004498736</oclcnum><exprid>sw000099700:lccn-n80-126289</exprid><isFiction>False</isFiction><recordType>book</recordType><date>1978</date><languages count="2"><lang code="eng" count="7"/><lang code="rus" count="1"/></languages><dates different="5" first="1970" last="2007"/><audLevel>0.50</audLevel><creator>Asimov, Isaac</creator><title>Asimov's guide to Shakespeare</title><summary>[The complete volume] is [a] scene-by-scene exploration of thirty-eight plays and two narrative poems in terms of their mythological, historical, and geographical roots. It ... supplies the modern reader with a working knowledge of the topics which Shakespeare assumed his potential Elizabethan audience to be well versed in. [This volume] deals with the fifteen plays distinctively rooted in English history. He enhances the value of the central objective of the text as he explores the literary and linguistic history of particularly powerful Shakespearean images. He also attempts to broaden the dimension of individual characters by approximating their ages through references by Shakespeare to specific historical events.-Dust jacket.</summary><cover oclc="ocn004498736" type="isbn">0517268256</cover></citation><citation><uniqueHoldings>1846</uniqueHoldings><holdings>2327</holdings><numEditions>21</numEditions><oclcnum>ocn000721246</oclcnum><exprid>sw000304718:lccn-n80-126289</exprid><isFiction>False</isFiction><recordType>book</recordType><date>1973</date><languages count="3"><lang code="eng" count="14"/><lang code="spa" count="6"/><lang code="und" count="1"/></languages><dates different="15" first="1966" last="2006"/><audLevel>0.32</audLevel><creator>Asimov, Isaac</creator><title>The moon</title><summary>Examines the many facets and puzzles of our Moon, including its phases and eclipses, its early discoveries and modern exploration, and its possible origins and future prospects.</summary><cover oclc="ocn049649874" type="isbn">0836832388</cover></citation><citation><uniqueHoldings>1773</uniqueHoldings><holdings>2232</holdings><numEditions>8</numEditions><oclcnum>ocn000967323</oclcnum><exprid>sw000520201:lccn-n80-126289</exprid><isFiction>False</isFiction><recordType>book</recordType><date>1960</date><languages count="2"><lang code="eng" count="7"/><lang code="und" count="1"/></languages><dates different="4" first="1960" last="1965"/><audLevel>0.60</audLevel><creator>Asimov, Isaac</creator><title>The intelligent man's guide to science</title></citation></by><about><citation><uniqueHoldings>1678</uniqueHoldings><holdings>1708</holdings><numEditions>5</numEditions><oclcnum>ocn004491369</oclcnum><exprid>sw004491369:lccn-n80-126289</exprid><isFiction>False</isFiction><recordType>book</recordType><date>1979</date><languages count="1"><lang code="eng" count="5"/></languages><dates different="2" first="1979" last="1980"/><audLevel>0.49</audLevel><creator>Asimov, Isaac</creator><title>In memory yet green : the autobiography of Isaac Asimov, 1920-1954</title></citation><citation><uniqueHoldings>1423</uniqueHoldings><holdings>1661</holdings><numEditions>4</numEditions><oclcnum>ocn008032650</oclcnum><exprid>sw008032650:lccn-n80-126289</exprid><isFiction>False</isFiction><recordType>book</recordType><date>1982</date><languages count="1"><lang code="eng" count="4"/></languages><dates different="3" first="1982" last="2005"/><audLevel>0.56</audLevel><creator>Gunn, James E</creator><title>Isaac Asimov, the foundations of science fiction</title><cover oclc="ocn044956962" type="isbn">0585114420</cover></citation><citation><uniqueHoldings>1274</uniqueHoldings><holdings>1292</holdings><numEditions>4</numEditions><oclcnum>ocn005846307</oclcnum><exprid>sw005846307:lccn-n80-126289</exprid><isFiction>False</isFiction><recordType>book</recordType><date>1980</date><languages count="1"><lang code="eng" count="4"/></languages><dates different="2" first="1980" last="1981"/><audLevel>0.49</audLevel><creator>Asimov, Isaac</creator><title>In joy still felt : the autobiography of Isaac Asimov, 1954-1978</title></citation><citation><uniqueHoldings>1167</uniqueHoldings><holdings>1184</holdings><numEditions>6</numEditions><oclcnum>ocn028215861</oclcnum><exprid>sw028215861:lccn-n80-126289</exprid><isFiction>False</isFiction><recordType>book</recordType><date>1994</date><languages count="2"><lang code="eng" count="5"/><lang code="und" count="1"/></languages><dates different="2" first="1994" last="1995"/><audLevel>0.47</audLevel><creator>Asimov, Isaac</creator><title>I.
